City Lights is another rooftop bar in Uptown and is another great spot for date night or dinner with friends. The patio has amazing skyline views, colorful lounge furniture, and beautiful plants and greenery that add to the beautiful atmosphere. City Lights is known for serving up delicious craft cocktails, and its signature "Sparkle and Pop" - which is a glass of champagne with a Popsicle turned upside in it - is a favorite with the locals.
Get out to City Lights this weekend for some fresh air, stunning views, and an all-around amazing time! Chase H. RiRa's Irish Pub in Uptown has a beautiful patio and serves up traditional Irish fare and delicious beers. The outdoor space offers a view of some of Charlotte's most famous buildings and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. RiRa's is a great place to pop into for lunch during the week or for drinks with friends after work. If you like Irish food and Irish charm, make sure to put this one on your list.
Tate B. Vivace is an amazing Italian restaurant located in Midtown at the Metropolitan. The patio is a great place for dinner or Sunday brunch, as it overlooks the Little Sugar Creek Greenway and has lovely skyline view. Vivace serves Italian favorites like fresh homemade pasta and pizzas, authentic Italian meat and seafood dishes, and an all-Italian wine list. When you dine on Vivace's patio, you may just feel like you are actually in Italy.

The Dilworth Tasting Room is a new establishment located where the iconic Dilworth Billiards used to be. The owners have transformed the space from an old pool hall to an elegant wine bar. Inside Dilworth Tasting Room, you will find plush couches and loveseats where you can sit with friends and enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail.
Outside, you'll find a beautiful patio filled with luscious plants, greenery, and flowers. Outdoor tables and chairs are nestled around a pretty koi pond and beautiful lanterns create a romantic glow on this patio.
But let me tell you, while a best of list is subjective, I do feel like I am qualified to write one about the best patios in Charlotte. This Charlotte restaurant guide was one of the hardest ones for me to write because there are just so many patio dining and drinking options in the Queen City, so this list was really hard to narrow down.
My best patios list started at more than twenty spots, and then I had to whittle away. The result is a wide range of food options, price points and ambiance. At The Goodyear House, you can enjoy locally sourced comfort food with an international flair at picnic table under twinkle lights and the branches of a hundred-year-old holly tree.
While casual and comfortable and dog friendly! The Goodyear House expanded their patio last year, adding an open air greenhouse and igloos over several tables to make outdoor dining in their gorgeous backyard accessible and comfortable all year round the igloos will leave for the season in mid-March but if you missed igloo season they are coming back next winter!
Lucky for us, Hello, Sailor is an easy drive up I so we can get our fill of tiki cocktails, seafood and lake views. You can also arrive at Hello, Sailor by boat and park in one of their 20 dedicated boat slips.
Beyond simple seafood dishes, beach worthy drinks and beautiful mid-century modern decor, Hello, Sailor boasts 3, square feet of waterfront deck space made for boozy slushie sipping. Usually I equate rooftop patios with sweeping skyline views, but one of the best, most underrated rooftop spots in town is actually tucked in among small businesses and Willow Oaks in Dilworth.
Just writing that sentence makes me salivate for a hot dog on a sunny day. The casual South End spot serves seafood favorites like fried platters, po boys, fish tacos, and chowder, along with burgers and sandwiches for landlubbers. They also have a full raw bar and an extensive craft cocktail menu, called boat drinks so on brand!
Reservations for the restaurant can be made by phone and you can give a preference for outdoor though it is not guaranteed. Goodyear House is in Noda and opened in February. They have tons of great indoor and outdoor space plus an amazing executive chef and owner, Chris Coleman.

Outdoor seating is first come, first serve. The perfect escape for great wine or cocktails and a dinner worth writing home about is this neighborhood wine bar. DTR has one of the best outdoor patios with a pond in the center. Bonus- they take reservations for the patio on Resy.
This off-the-beaten path, intimate Italian Restaurant is one of our favorite spots when it comes to authentic and fresh Italian cuisine in a quaint setting. The owner and chef, Gabriele Grigolon, has cooked in kitchens in some of the hottest food cities around the world and he is always there to lend his advice when it comes to ordering.
Reservations can be made by phone for the patio. Developed from a historic textile mill, Optimist Hall is a new mixed-use retail space that offers some of the best food and beverage in Charlotte.
OH has tons of outdoor seating but it is on a first come, first serve basis! With two locations now, Capishe has quickly become a top pizzeria in Charlotte amongst even the most gourmet foodies. Expect fresh-made pasta and pizza dough alongside big salads, drool-worthy Puccia bread sandwiches, meatballs and of course the Italian dessert favorites gelato and cannolis.

The signature elk chop is especially good when enjoyed on the porch with a breeze.
Up the street in the brick structure that was once a single-family home, is a Charlotte favorite for New Orleans-style fare. The restaurant has live music nightly with seating upstairs and downstairs. Neighborhood: NoDa. The NoDa Company Store has fast become a local gathering spot.
With vibrant murals, live music, craft beer and signature house-made sangria, this casual spot has porch swings and a patio with tiki umbrellas for visitors to enjoy. Area: Matthews. A covered front porch means you can take in the picturesque views of downtown. Neighborhood: North Charlotte. The outdoor courtyard offers seating with views of Uptown and shade by way of chic, yellow umbrellas.
